What information do we collect?

Information you provide

  • Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, language preference, username and account identifiers.
  • Product, vehicle and service information, such as LINK product information, vehicle details, dealer information, warranty registration, installation or service history, support requests and communications.
  • Dealer and business information, including contact, company and credit-related information submitted through dealer applications when credit terms are requested.
  • Survey and communication information that you choose to provide.

Please do not send medical records or other health information unless we specifically request it and explain why it is needed.

Information collected through MyLINK app and the MyLINK server

MyLINK allows an end user to connect to and control a compatible LINK product through Bluetooth, manage associated vehicles, configure settings, receive product or service notifications, access support resources and request remote technical support.

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

  • Account information, including your email address, user ID, authentication status, communication preferences and multi-factor authentication settings.
  • LINK and vehicle profile information, including LINK device identifiers, associated vehicle profiles, configuration settings, app version and device firmware version.
  • Technical and diagnostic information, including diagnostic results, status or fault information, configuration information, performance information, event timestamps, device logs and crash data.
  • Support information, including communications and information you choose to provide when requesting assistance from Adapt Solutions or an authorized dealer.

Technical and diagnostic information is transmitted to Adapt Solutions when you choose to share it or initiate a remote support session. You may decline this sharing; however, doing so may limit our ability to remotely diagnose or resolve a technical issue.

During a remote support session, MyLINK may temporarily display the Bluetooth connection status. This information is used only for that session and is not retained afterward.

Bluetooth, phone content and location

MyLINK uses Bluetooth to discover and communicate with nearby LINK products. Bluetooth permissions are used only for this purpose. On certain Android devices, the operating system may describe Bluetooth scanning as a location-related permission. MyLINK does not collect, transmit or store your location. Location information never leaves your device.

MyLINK does not access, collect or store your contacts, photographs, messages, call history or other unrelated content from your phone.

Website, cookies and analytics

When you use our website, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, actions taken, and the date and time of your visit.

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember choices, understand website use and improve performance. Our website uses Complianz to provide cookie notices and preference controls. We also use Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager to measure website use. You can accept, reject or manage non-essential cookies through the cookie settings available on our website. You may also control cookies through your browser settings.

Security information

We may collect and use an IP address when a dealer creates an account or when a person accesses certain public services. IP addresses may be used to detect excessive requests, automated activity, spam or other misuse and to protect the Services, including applying temporary or permanent access restrictions where appropriate.

Why do we use personal information?

  • To create and secure accounts, authenticate users and administer access.
  • To connect MyLINK to a compatible LINK product and save selected vehicle or product settings.
  • To provide notifications, support resources, remote diagnostics and troubleshooting when requested or enabled.
  • To register warranties, maintain service records, process inquiries, locate authorized dealers and provide products or services.
  • To maintain the safety, security, reliability and performance of our products and Services.
  • To detect and investigate errors, misuse, fraud or security incidents.
  • To analyze and improve our Services, products, support resources and user experience, using aggregated or de-identified information where appropriate.
  • To send marketing communications where permitted and according to your choices.
  • To comply with legal obligations and establish or exercise legal rights.

We will identify a new purpose and obtain consent where required before using personal information for an unrelated purpose.

Consent and your choices

We seek consent in a manner appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the circumstances. Some information is required to create an account, connect a LINK product, provide requested support or register a warranty. If you do not provide required information, the related feature or service may not be available.

  • You may change your email or marketing preferences through available account settings or an unsubscribe link. We may still send necessary transactional, safety, security, warranty, defect, recall or service-bulletin communications.
  • You may manage mobile permissions through your device settings. Disabling Bluetooth or notifications may prevent related MyLINK features from working.
  • You may manage non-essential cookies through the cookie controls on our website.
  • You may decline to share technical or diagnostic information, but this may limit remote support.

When do we disclose information?

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose only the information reasonably necessary in the following circumstances:

  • Authorized Adapt Solutions dealers and service providers: to respond to a dealer-locator request, arrange installation or service, provide technical support, perform diagnostics, administer warranty work or address a safety matter.
  • Technology and business service providers: to provide services such as hosting, cloud infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, notifications, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, security and professional services on our behalf.
  • Business transactions: as part of a proposed or completed financing, merger, reorganization, sale or transfer, subject to applicable legal requirements and safeguards.
  • Legal, safety and security purposes: where required or permitted by law, to protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or respond to lawful process.

Some service providers may process or store information outside Quebec or Canada. In those cases, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed. Adapt Solutions uses assessments, contracts and other safeguards required by applicable law before communicating personal information outside Quebec.

How long do we keep information?

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, safety, warranty, service, accounting and recordkeeping obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information, its sensitivity and the reason it is held. When information is no longer required, we securely destroy it or anonymize it in accordance with applicable law.

Account information and information needed to provide MYLINK services are generally retained while an account remains active and for a limited period afterward. Warranty, service and product-safety records may be retained longer because LINK is a durable mobility product.

How do we protect information?

We use reasonable administrative, physical and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of the information and the risks involved. These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, logging, employee confidentiality requirements, service-provider controls, backups and incident-response procedures.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Privacy incidents

Adapt Solutions maintains procedures to assess and respond to confidentiality incidents. Where required, we will notify affected individuals and applicable regulators and maintain records required by law.
